Tail Cone Assembly * The tail cone is made of posterboard. After inserting some stiffening rings, I coated it with thin CyA for strength and stiffness. (The cone is about 30 cm long.) * 853 x 2444 * (478KB)

Aft Cone Assembly * Assembly detail of the aft cone (the broom). Note the blind nut threads for the Kaplow Clips, the launch lug and launch rod hole (dowel is through the lug and hole, into the cone, for alignment), and the cardboard stiffener inside the cone. * 1980 x 1813 * (695KB)

Unstained Nose * Nose cone (the bed knob), ready for staining. Thanks to my friend Dan Schkolnik for turning it! * 805 x 1806 * (512KB)

Stained Nose * Balse is not known for its beautiful grain, but this still stained up nicely. * 746 x 2281 * (545KB)

Kinked Tube View 1 * While painting, the rocket fell over and the tube kinked. Well, broke, really. Yes, I was able to repair it: just sectioned and spliced. * 2554 x 1224 * (534KB)
